Award winning singer/songwriter, Pistol Hill, was born and raised in the Foothills of North Carolina. Pistol began playing drums at six years old, switched to guitar at age twelve and began writing songs immediately. “The first 20 songs I played were my own” Pistol said, and in clarification added, “Songwriting was the first thing I had ever felt passionate about.”
He was working his way through business school when he decided to do music full time. “My music appreciation professor failed me twice. So I decided that meant I had to prove that guy wrong.” Pistol later explained that he left Appalachian State University without saying a word to anyone, moved in with his brother in Charlotte, and began paying his dues.
After moving from Boone, to Charlotte, to Greenville, Pistol finally decided to move back to Shelby, where he worked construction and played five nights a week for two and a half years. In 2016, Pistol decided to quit his day job and dedicate all of his time to touring and writing.
Pistol now tours most of the Southeast and is actively writing, recording, and releasing new material. In the Spring of 2018, Pistol released Part I, featuring his first single “Different You,” and on November 18th, Pistol released Part II. Pistol Hill’s music is available on all digital outlets.
Pistol has since toured the country and released two 3 song EPs with Grammy award winning producer Billy Hume in 2018.  More music is in the works along with a 2019 full of traveling across the country with fellow Straybird artists and others.
